3D Animation - Dune

Dune-Inspired Chase – 3D Animation
This animation was created as part of the final assignment for the 3D Animation course. Based on the format of Pwnisher’s 3D Challenges, all students worked from the same starting file with a fixed camera movement, and the final animations were combined into one collective video.
For my scene, I took inspiration from Dune and created a tense desert chase: a lone character runs for his life as a massive sandworm emerges from the dunes. I sculpted the worm myself, designed the full environment in Blender, and used Embergen to create custom smoke VDBs for added atmosphere. The animation ends as the worm swallows the runner and disappears back into the sand.
This project allowed me to combine sculpting, animation, VFX, and storytelling in a single cinematic shot.
