Dancing Animations - 2D Frame by Frame Animation

Dancing Animations is my final project at a secondary school with an arts focus. The work explores movement and rhythm through 2D frame-by-frame animation, created entirely in Adobe Animate using the rotoscoping technique.

The project consists of two parts: an initial pre-study and the final animation titled Headless Dancers. In this main piece, I focused on abstracting the human form by removing facial features, shifting the viewer’s attention fully to the motion of the body. The result is a rhythmic, almost hypnotic animation.

Through this project, I used traditional animation methods to study how dance can be expressed visually without relying on identity or expression.
